Dear Extropes,
Life is too precious, and time too, and it's not my way of living to
think of using my precious time to categorize people on gender or race
or religion any other category and assign them blame for the things that
might have gone wrong in my life. That seems completely alien to me,
something from a strange race that haven't evolved.
A productive use of my time is to focus on fulfilling the vision I have
of myself, and then putting myself in the context of the stream of flow
of humanity and applying my vision in a larger context in space and
time. It must start from the inside, though. That's the deep work
of exploring one's own vast inner universe. Putting my inner visions
into practice and into the stream of humanity is the next step. For me,
some of this hard work is very spiritual.
Many of these discussions of killing or viewing groups of people as
less valuable than other groups of people. make my stomach turn over.
For sure, this is not in my vision of my future or the future of the
community of people that I care about. I doubt that humanity would
ever get off this planet if the majority of people hold that opinion.
On more earthly matters, I wish that there were more women on the list
to handle some of these topics. I don't have the time or the motivation
or typing fingers to address emotionally charged blame. It's not because
of me that some of you are angry, and it's not particularly healthy for
me to stick around around and listen to garbage. Because there's so few
women here, you fellows don't have much information on the issues from a
woman's side, and it might be useful for you guys to see the other side
too. I know very well that there are agendas for both mens and women's
issues, but I don't think that they can be discussed in such an
emotionally charged environment, and if, or when, it comes to each
gender pointing fingers at the other, then the women will be
outnumbered. It's a pointless exercise, don't you think? Especially on
this mailing list. I think that all of us can better use our time and
energy celebrating our differences and using those differences make our
lives richer.
