So far the strategy of respecting people's rights to freedom of association,
freedom of speech, life, etc. has worked quite well. The world is a far
more extropian place than it was 50, 20, maybe even 10 years ago.
Socialism is a pretty dead horse. Tolerance is deep throughout the West.
I see many religions as growing threats, but not one to be fixed by
mass extermination, involuntary mental re-engineering, or conversion
to helpless virtual people.

Had the thinkers of the post-WWII era who helped found the current
open society and libertarian movements not been deeply respectful of
opponents' rights I doubt we would have come nearly as far.
