You should check out some of the IEEE 1394 ones. $95 is the cheapest,
640x480 at 30 fps (200 MBps) with no stupid compression artefacts, quad
pixels, progressive scan. The more expensive ones come with professional
optics, electronic shutter and external trigger.
CCD right now, CMOS versions forthcoming.
