I'm not completely 100% opposed to magical physics, though in IMO
current physics is magical enough. However *if* physics continues
to become more and more complex and/or magical it is going to start
to push me into the "we have to be running on a simulation" camp.
And I really don't want to go there.

My primary reason for pounding the doorstop under the door on
magical physics is to try and force people to explain things
using "conventional physics" before they resort to inventing
things like MACHO particles and the like. We have far to
many theoretical physicists and far to few astroengineers
when we would probably be better off with things the other
way around.
