Extropic Flare In NY Art Scene

How wonderful it is when our environments reflect our visions. All too
often we assemble in restaurants and shopping centers, corporations and
banks, mini-marts and gas stations, that remind us too frequently of the
past. Architecture and design really make our ideas sing when we get a
sense, a feeling, of being alive and remind us of streamlined extropic
transhumanist visions.

Here are some images I recently came across:

A photograph portraying a New York futuristic mini-department store called
Ether which looks like an underground technoclub with brilliant purple and
green liquid lighting.

An image of the Electric fashion show displaying shock tactics by donning
the Alexander McQueen (for Givency) runway. Models wear glowing electronic
lights arranged like circuit boards. The show was inspired by 2001: A
Space Odyssey and Tron. One bodysuit (similar to a catsuit) starts at the
neck and completes its luminous array at the tips of the stiletto heels.

A 17,000 square-foot midtown Manhattan nightclub Float on 52nd Street
resembles a Japanese tearoom with a mixture of colorful lights and a steely
futuristic environment. At first I did a double take on the
teahouse/nightclub oxymoron, but when looking at the picture, I can almost
hear the music.
