Yes, and in a time when handguns were even more available than they are now
our handgun murder rate was also very low -- how do you explain that?
In addition if you will look at the handgun murder rates in our major
cities with really tight gun laws you will find that the handgun murder rate
is higher than the rest of the nation -- how do you explain that?
In the end though I think we agree that for the foreseeable future we
have to keep some hand guns around to defend ourselves against criminals and
some others. Have you given any thought to who should have the guns?
I have thought about that and am satisfied on one point. Given the
prediliction of my family to go into the armed professions I imagine that me
and my friends will always have them.
