Mike Lorrey notes that the UK and Australia have higher crime rates than the
US.

I am not sure where you gain this figure.

However, our murder rates are lower. Our handgun murder rates are far lower.
I think, in the case of the US and the UK, it is something like several
thousand to a dozen or so. In the case of the State I live in, with 5
million inhabitants we have one or two or three handgun murders a year.

However, in the case of State murder our crime rate is lower than the US.

I am disappointed that as an immortalist and impending immortal you should
not care about the continued existence of existing rapists and murderers. I
do share your concern about preventing rape and murder, but that does not
impede my empathy. I am unconcerned with punishment. I am concerned with
prevention through protective shielding and assistance.
