Me too. :) And I see the two things as equivalent: "exempt from death" =
"living forever"

I agree that a "very small but nonzero total probability of dying" is
almost but not quite equivalent to true immortality. However I started
this thread primarily for philosophical reasons.

I pose this philosophical question: "Is true and certain immortality
achievable in principle for you and me given the problem of quantum
tunneling?"

For the moment I am inclined to answer "no." However I am open to
arguments that might convince me otherwise.
