image abroad.
If Americans criticize the U.S. government, are they still branded as
'unpatriotic'?
I'm not sure if the U.S. media is criticizing the U.S. government on grounds
of moral principles yet but they lately seem to be criticizing on grounds
of economics ('our economy can't afford a war with Iraq'). This is
a new tact. Maybe that means the door is opening to more criticism
within the U.S. borders.
