Robert Bradbury noted:
<<The Boston Globe has an interesting article about the links
between Al Qaeda and the Salafist school of Islam, e.g.>>
Just from memory, the Salafist ideological movement is one that has
originated in Algeria, where tens of thousands of deaths have resulted in
warfare between those who support the more secular government, and those who
support the Islamist opposition. So when NPR reports Islamic Fundamentalists
killed 13 villagers, 100 miles from Algiers; these are the Salafists who are
conducting executions. Salafists have mosques in both France and Italy.
<<I don't see anything in the article suggesting that the Salafist
school is originating Saudi Arabia. The problem is distributed
over a wide geographical area, it is a grudge match and it isn't
going to go away anytime soon.
Robert >>
The Salafist, if I am correct, recieve donations through private contribution
from Saudi, as well as other parts of Islamic geography. The traditional
Muslims have a milenium old banking system based on avoiding usery; a
mercantilsit-religious system of finance. They use this system to support
worthy causes such as the liberation of Islamic lands from kaffir control,
and the promotion of conversion, and the implementation of Sharia,
world-wide.
The "grudge match" to quote R. Bradbury, is financed in large part by such
activities as petroleum and poppy production, as well as all other financial
activities. Surely, if the USA decided to not be so dependent on OPEC, this
would reduce the capability to pursue such activities.
