I am betting against Uncle Saddam's niceness and betting on his "will to
power". The man did not rise to power by being a man of reason, but rather a
man of determination. His role model was never Hitler, but was Comrade Stalin
(despite Iraq's cozy relationship with the Reich during WW2, and cozier
relationship with the Commies post 1945). You really don't believe that Mr.
Saddam doesn't wish to flatten Washington, or depopulate Miami with plague?
My opinion is even Republican ex-Marines can occasionally be wrong-headed.
