Politeness is NOT the same thing as PC, BTW. Politeness is when you take
care to make sure that you haven't assumed something that the other person
didn't intend to mean. That you read before you reply. That you don't
misquote or partially quote in such a way as to give an incorrect impression
as to the other person's original communication. Etc.
Pain and related feelings exist for very good reasons, and I suspect that it
is impossible for a consciousness to experience pleasure and not be capable
of pain.
