If this is one of the first things we build with nanotech, then yes.
Otherwise, no. If you have military nanotech at a similar level of
sophistication, its the equivalent of a mob of nuts with rifles. You just
sterilize the area with directed energy weapons, then dust it with military
nanobots to mop up.
The funny thing is, I think the military equipment is easier to make. It
doesn't have to survive in the wild, refueling from natural sources and
replicating itself.
