I do have a photo of Shelly and yes I am a huge fan
of Rudy Rucker. She and I were up at his house about
3 years ago along with Damien. Rudy fixed the dinner,
which was excellent. Truly a man of many talents.
Afterwards we were discussing mathematics in literature.
I said that I liked Stephenson's Cryptonomicon because
was a rare example of fiction that was about mathematics
and computers. I further commented I had another book
at home that I really liked that was a collection of
short stories about math. "The Mathenauts?" he asked.
"Yes, that is the title." He didn't say anything more
about it but he must have been struggling to not burst
out laughing. That evening, I found my copy of Mathenauts
and noticed it was compiled and edited by Rudy Rucker.
