META: information sources

It looks like Google is getting into the information source
business. (Wasn't Northern Lights doing this for a while???).

At any rate cruise on over to http://answers.google.com/

I've looked at a few of the questions and answers. In some
cases we seem to be talking pretty deep material and pretty
deep answers as well. The answers in many cases would appear
to be in greater depth than the payment seems to justify
(at least to me), so we may be getting into a "gift economy"
structure here. [People like to show off their knowledge.]

Now of course this raises all sorts of interesting entertainment
possibilities. What kind of "interesting" questions could
extropians or transhumanists ask to bait the answer persons?
Of course you have to put your money on the line here, but
given the amount of time some individuals devote to the ExI
list, they should certainly be willing to pay for a higher
level of entertainment...

It looks like you have to pony up some serious money $10-$50
to get really good responses. So that equates to what -- 2-10
movies or 3-15 hours of entertainment?

My first question: "What causes aging and how do we prevent it?".

Now of course if Spike was willing to spend $XXX to travel
halfway across the country to explain an engine problem
to a bunch of motorheads then he must be willing to pay
$YYY in a public forum to get an ill-informed answer and
be able to comment on it (yes?).

My second question: "Why doesn't Max More have a faster car than
Greg Burch?"

Come on folks, put your thinking caps on...

Robert
