For those accusing me of intolerance all I can say is I am merely intolerant of
not being tolerated. I sure don't advocate forcing anyone to believe one way or
another as it seems from these quotes Islam appears to. Kudos to Avatar
Polymorph for posting these quotes. There should be no doubt now that just as I
said those that believe and live by these words are a danger to our dreams and
the entire world. Kind of reminds me of Dune were 10,000 years from now the only
remaining religion seems very Islam-ish.
It appears that even those that might try to modernize and soften Islam are in
danger themselves of Mohammed's wrath. Scarry stuff.
This, as far as I'm concerned, does not cut any slack for the other major tomes
either. In this day of science and learning and (hoped for) respect for life and
freedom, these tomes each have their own violent and archaic, outdated, and yes,
'intolerable' precepts that modern humans should not have to be affronted by. I
look for the day we all grow up and give up on phantoms and the books that
support belief in them.
To me Extropianism means the humans becoming as close to what historically we've
considered the domain of godhood as possible. Who or what will we worship then?
Why?
