You are correct, and may even understate your case.
Freeware on a palm pilot is now good enough to
entertain nearly all club-level players. This
leads me to think we are ready to make an implantable
computer strong enough to prevail in A to B rated
chess tournaments, assuming a satisfactory interface
could be worked out. This would be, as far as I
know, the first human enhancement to be used in a
sporting competition. spike
