As a complementary point to my previous post on the genetics of complex
characteristics, I did some research on intelligence genes. I don't
think any of these have been identified yet, but here are some references:
Turner G., "Intelligence and the X chromosome",
Lancet. 1996 Jun 29;347(9018):1814-5.

(See also the "related articles")
As discussed in this article, there may be as many as 8 genes on the X
chromosome affecting intelligence.

This PhD Thesis by Richelle Strom, "Genetic Analysis of Variation in Neuron Number"
documents "Secondary brain weight QTLs were mapped to Chrs 1, 5, 8, 11, 14, 18,
and X" (in mice).

Head size/brain volume also appears to be correlated with intelligence.
So, there are probably dozen or more genes that are involved in intelligence.
