Of course, a war on death might be just the wrong idea. Wars on drugs
and terrorism are likely not very efficient solutions because they are
centralised solutions, and the problem is pervasive. In order to really
fight death (or drugs and terrorism) the fight has to be done
everywhere, especially on the cultural level. Verses like William's is a
start, since it tries to make people aware of the carnage going on
around them. Once that awareness exists, enormous amounts of brainpower
and resources can be used to pursue the many divergent possibilities of
a solution. A Manhattan Project against aging is likely a bad idea,
since it will only pursue a few and take most of the resources: a
distribued dynamistic approach likely works best for this kind of messy
problems.
