I am buy no measure an encryption expert, and I don't presume all
communications could or should be encrypted, just whevever and wherever
practical.

If you have my personal public key, messages encrypted to me can practicly
and theoretically only be read by me
, rubber hose decryption notwithstanding, it's a [for your eyes only]
strategy.
I don't know how I would implement this on a many to many communication,
I think you need to establish a trust model

I co-developed a PGP- Blowfish based IRC Chat client that works well on any
IRC network in a one to many model.
