This is not new. Legal immigrants are not exempt from having social
security taken out of their paycheck. This means that they must pay into
the system, but they can't get anything out of the system. As far as I
know, it has always been thus. While citizens complain about supporting
immigrants, immigrants complain about being taxed to support the citizens.
Other taxes on legal immigrants are similar. They must pay full value into
the tax systems, but they cannot get full benefits as would a citizen.
