4. Develop and Test Models

This system configuration implements the layered Model+View testing architecture for the assembly example.

• The HMI,MODEL and VIEW devices encapsulate the functionality of the corresponding layers of the architecture.
• As in the ASM_VIEWL configuration, the VIEW device contains an instance of the specialized VIEW_PANEL resource type to provide the necessary layout of View elements for the assembly example.
• The MODEL device contains the Model elements for the physical elements of the assembly example. An instance of the XBAR_MDLL type models the press, and an instance of the DSCYL_MDLL type models the dual-stroke cylinder and the logic for the assembly operation.
• Inter-layer communication is implemented with the local multicast pattern.
