I tend to think with a three grand price tag for the public model, this will be a yuppie item for under the Christmas tree. I don't see it "transforming" public transportation unless they get the pricetag under one grand. The people who may need it most cannot currently afford it.
Personally, I am enthralled with this gizmo! I would love to ride one around Anchorage during the summer. And I would like to see a winter version of it produced! lol
