Re: "Post-humanism": The right term?

Why not have a raging debate for the next decade over what to call it? Why
bother with making it happen? Who needs nanotech, life extension, IA, AI,
uploading, space colonization, etc. when we spend time looking for a label
which won't scare anyone about our aims?

I hate to sound hostile, but this sounds more like a marketing meeting than
a discussion of the future's possibilities.

Anyway, with that off my chest, I propose this term:
we-hate-academics-ism.:)

But, for the record, I'll stick with posthumanism and transhumanism. I
don't mind some confusion or shock value. The terms have gained currency;
the shock value makes some people think (like Ayn Rand using "selfishness");
and the confusion gives me a chance to open up a discussion with the
confused.

Cheers!
