Reminds me of pertussis (whooping cough). Here in Santa Cruz it became the
fashion for some parents to not immunize their children due to the small
but definite chance the child would have a negative reaction to the
immunization. What they didn't know or consider was that without
immunization pertussis is much more likely and the total harm much higher.
The result: Santa Cruz and San Mateo have the highest pertussis rates in
the nation, like 50x higher.

I am beginning to think that training in the use of firearms should be
mandatory.
