Dan,
If you are a libertarian (small l) then you and I can probably come to
an agreement. Can we agree that the continuum from Democrats on the right to
the Republicans on the right is not nearly as relevant as the continuum from
the various totalitarian ideologies to the libertarians on the other end of
the continuum?
If so we can agree on that much then perhaps we can agree that we both
wish to strengthen the libertarian position.
My problem at this time has less to do with goals than trying to cut
through the Democrat & Republican, BS is put out in their pursuit of their
partisan goals.
For example I am having great trouble with cutting through the BS of
the current civil liberties argument. We (Americans) gave up a huge chunk of
our civil liberties way back in the 30s when we went for social security and
that little ring through our nose known as the social security number and the
IRS. Presently I am studying tax accounting and cannot get over how much of
liberties we gave away when we adopted social security and income tax. That
loss of rights almost makes the present situation look trivial in my opinion.
I would appreciate continuing the dialogue on this subject with you.
