My words above are correct but I did not address the question of "my
bed." You're right, someone will be in my bed that evening, but there is
a .999 probability it won't be me. (Sorry for the confusion. I was
focusing on the possessive... i.e., it won't be *my* bed anymore.)
In 999 of 1000 cases, the situation would be identical to that which
would occur if I died and an alternate continuation of me from another
MWI universe were brought to this universe to replace me.
Consider that alternates of you are dying constantly throughout the
multiverse. If you could travel to one of those universes then you could
replace one of your dead alternates. This would not however amount to
survival for your dead alternate. Your alternate would remain dead to
the world.
