I was working in this field long before Mr. Gates had any real wealth at
all. PCs existed before Gates. Apple was around as well as other PC
companies. Microsoft is a software company only. It does not even
write (at least not origionally) much of its software. Most of its
wealth is derived from sharp dealing to weaken and topple competition
and tie hardware manufacturers and organizations to their product line
by any legal (and some judged quite illegal) means. I don't owe Bill
Gates a damn thing except recognizing just how much better the world
could be through computers if it was not for his policies and actions
and the policies and actions of his company. It is he who is guilty of
theft.
How dare people act as if Bill Gates is some kind of saint. This is a
level of dishonesty that I find utterly unforgiveable.
