The first PC was the Altar 8080, it came out in 1975, the software it ran on
came from Microsoft. The international headquarters and primary research
facility for Microsoft at the time was the college dormitory room of Bill
Gates. Incidentally one of the chief producers of software for the Apple 2
was Microsoft.
