On the contrary, ownership of all the above is legal in most states,
and legal on a federal level, as anyone on this list for a long time
should be aware. I have owned machine guns and know quite a few (a
number of whom are on this list) people who also own such Class III
weapons. Bazookas and other 'Destructive Devices' are also legally
ownable by those who go through the trouble of obtaining a license to
do so.
The supply of publicly ownable class III weapons is currently fixed at
around 100,000 firearms, and with increasing demand their prices go up
all the time. This, I think, will likely change in the next two years
now that the GOP is running things, specifically in the area of getting
builder-owned class III weapons exempted from ATF scrutiny, since such
have not been involved in 'interstate commerce' and are thus
constitutionally outside federal jurisdiction.
