I must agree here. If Ritter is guilty, he might get money from pro-Iraqi
sources as a reward. But if Ritter is innocent, he might get money from
pro-Iraqi sources to document the truth. I can't see that the money
provides evidence (much less "proof") either way.
Additionally, the amount seems small. Of the $400,000 that went to making
the movie, Ritter only got $80,0000 of which he kept less than $50,000 after
movie expenses. I can't see someone becoming a traitor and getting less the
$50,000 as a reward almost a decade later.
