Great analogy to explain the right-wing position. Now add this twist
to explain the left-wing position:

Imagine that the richest man eats 70% of the food while paying only
$59 of the $100 charge. He is paying a lower overall rate for what he
consumes even though his total bill is larger. His food is actually
being subsidized by middle-class who are also paying for the poor's
free food.
