I have discussed this verse with experts. There is controversy, particularly
by conservative Christians, who see the above translation as a kind of
new-age interpretation inclining the reader towards navel-gazing.
Some translate the text as
"The Kingdom of God is in the midst you."
The greek word used is entos [related to our word interior as I recall], that
is used only one other place in the new testament, in the context of the
interior of a cup. Seems clear to me that within is the closer rendering.
Theology dubious, but a great psychological truth.
