Actually, I found it to be a good article. Sure, we would like to be
called the next great thing and lauded as being good and smart, but this
somewhat sceptical mention will likely do more good. It shows
transhumanism as a potentially serious position! This is important. Most
articles about the idea treat it as a fun fringe idea, but never
anything that will itself ever be debated in the mainstream political
forums and halls of power - that is left to the "real" ideologies.

A problem is his reliance on the politics of transhumanism article; not
that the article itself is bad, but that Anderson didn't seem to take
the discussion and debate caused by it and which refined many of the
issues. The problem here isn't that Anderson missed it, but that much of
this debate is not easily accessible. An ideological movement is defined
in the eyes of others by the documents created by it. If the only
available document on the politics of transhumanism is James's, he will
define it. In order to actually become a serious contender we need to
write and publish more; it is not just about reaching out, but also
defining ourselves.
