No. The bin Ladens, McVeys, etc. are to blame for the attacks themselves. To
say the government isn't taking away our freedoms after it passes blatantly
unconstitutional "anti-terror" legislation is just ignoring the facts. Osama
can't make a vote in Congress. Only your local rep/sen can do that.

Actually, *both* the terrorists and the government deserve contempt when the
actions of the government are a threat to the rights of its citizens. I have
no problem at all with apprehending terrorists, but do it in a way that
doesn't obstruct rights. It's a rather over-used analogy, but giving away
rights is like a slippery slope. It starts with arresting a few "suspects."
Then anti-terror/-rights legislation passes. Bills like the USA PATRIOT Act
take away the rights of *all* Americans, not just the terrorists.
