What is going on here?

OK - why NO comments on the Boeing anti-gravity thing?

Where have all the cool stories on current events
gone?

Here's one: At "The Block" in Orange, Orange County,
CA, one of the stalls in the pedestrian concourses was
selling rf controlled model cars. Two differences: 1.
They were almost hotcar tiny. 2. They were apparently
powered by very high capacity capacitors. The stall
proprietor informed potential customers that they ran
for about 10-12 minutes on a charge, which came from
the little hand-held rf controller powered from a
couple of AA cells. Charging took 45 seconds.

They showed up again at the local ACP swapmeet. Might
have been a different brand, as the guy there said 5
minutes per charge, but the charge still only took 45
seconds.

So - patent killer of the day: All those boomers with
their hot new Sony phones that include video
capabilities? How about teledriving around Central
Park from San Francisco? Maybe accompanying your
friend/date via one of those big model 4-Bys using
telepresence via the cellular and a couple of cheap
video cams and microphones, etc.

How about accompanying your kids cub scout troop on a
nature hike - from home, using perhaps a smaller 4-By
that your 8 yr. old can stuff in his pack when you get
tired of driving or the batteries run low? Or going
shopping at the Mall with your buds or your kids, with
the ability to leave them and explore around
independently?

Is this a hot idea or what? If your knees are shot,
so what? Just teledrive down to the stip mall and
pick up your special cigs that take the attendant 5
minutes to find in the back, your 6-pack and lottery
scratchers. You can still hold up just as many people
fuming in line behind you, without ever leaving home!
- altho standing there and scratching the tickets one
by one might be difficult.

Desert teleracing with a Head Mounted Display? How
much damage can an 8inch 4-By do? Well sure - some -
but not in comparison to the stuff out there now.

Walk your kid to school from your kitchen or office.

It's the future. Just don't try and lock it up in a
patent now ... Bill.
