I now see that this film came out last October! I did
do a search on the Extropian archives before posting
and found no references to it, so I hope I'm not
ridiculously belated in singing its praises.

Tonight, I watched it again, this time with the
director's (Linklater) and animators' commentaries.
Linklater (Slackers, Dazed & Confused) specifically
mentioned transhumanism and extropianism when
describing one of the scenes. You'll know which one.

Linklater is described in many reviews as brilliant in
directing and writing this film, but after listening
to the commentaries, I get the feeling that the film
practically put itself together. He described it as a
kitchen sink film, a collection of previous ideas and
new ideas brought to him by very interesting people he
thought would bring something to the film. One
character provides the semi-adhesive glue that keeps
it together (unlike Slackers which was totally stream
of consciousness film-making). Keep in mind, the focus
is on process, not resolution.

Even if you get bored at some point with one of the
character's dialogue, you can turn your attention to
the stunning visuals until the next character comes
along.

I will purchase a copy.

Cheers,

Scott
