To survive nano, bio, and nuclear hazards, I would suggest heading to
the asteroid belts, not Centauri. And if you can't make it to the
asteroid belts, try the Moon. I think that given a dozen Gatesloads,
Dani Eder would be more than happy to take on the job and I would expect
him to succeed. Though it might take a while.
