Okay, here we go again.

<<How about Iranian reformers trying to reach out to the US? Or Iranian
friendliness to American visitors? Or that NATO member, Turkey?

-xx- Damien X-) >>

The Reformers might make a big change indeed. But what now seems likely is
Ali Khameini, the Persian dictatorship, sucessfully imploding and
pro-democratic tendencies amongst his people. The mullahs are of by and from
the people. Islamic radicals are not imported from Mars. Turkey is a
different story, but how long can these guys resist the call of the Jihaddi?
You may see the door closing on the belle eppoche, of the Turkish Republic.

<<Not according to Iran they weren't. Shall we remember that the only
countries
to recognize the Taliban were Pakistan, Saudia Arabia, and some little
country
I can't remember (Yemen or Oman, I'd guess.) Whoever you're quoting is out
of
step with most Muslims, or at least most Muslim governments, on the Taliban. >
>

Saudi oil billionaires have been funding world islamic violence against
non-muslims. The President of Malaysia ordered a few years back to ban the
music of any jewish composer. The Moro Guerrillas in the Philipines are
performing kidnappings, they are all muslim. There have been massacres of
Christians in Indonesia 2 years ago, all based on "Islamic purity", and in
Nigeria, the hunger of the government is to bring the Ebo's in the north
under Islamic law. Are you aware that slavery is still practiced in the
Sudan? Its permitted only if the captive, is made captive by a muslim, and
the captive must not be a muslim. The Islamic worldview as its constituted
currently is not mine, I hope its not yours either.

<<Them and Pat Buchanan. >>
Pat Buchanan and his Father Coughlin crowd can please ignite and burn.

<<Well, yeah. Can you say "colonialism"? The former colonies remember what
the
West has done. The US gets "support for Israel" and "starving Iraqi
children"
on its plate. Of course, it also gets called upon to rein in Israel.>>

The children starve in Iraq, not because of Israel, but because of Saddam.
Saddam and Saudi unwillingness to help anyone but themselves.

<<Gee, I wonder what a poll of Western Europe would reveal? Especially
opinions
about Bush. Or a poll of any of the states which voted 2-1 for Gore>>

Western Europe, apparently is on its own ego trip, and has become nearly,
irrelevent to the world. Its a meaner, more bigoted, and more selfish place
then just a couple of decades ago. I voted for Al Gore, last election,
primarilly because I was convinced that W would be nothing but a clone of his
father, same people from the 1st administration. I also liked Gore emphasis
on energy technology, as opposed to W.
W is now virtually bullet-proof as a result of 9-11. History has come
calling, and there is no way back.
