I won't speak for Amara, but I'm no advocate of defenselessness, or not
punishing those who attack you. (If you can find them.) But there's no
binary choice between being willing to defend the "homeland" (gaack) and being
willing to criticize our policies or general attitude. One can do both quite
easily. Kind of like being a libertarian on a left-right spectrum.
