MEMES: How to promote them

but leaving that aside and only commenting on people
leaving books in interesting places -- is there an
effective multiplier effect in this process?

Knowing an individual, living in the Bay area, such as Spike,
who has a very large book collection, I am driven to wonder
what kind of multiplier effect he could initiate. Of course
if the sub-culture is unique to the bay area, the multiplier
effect might be minimal.

It seems to me to be an important question to ask --
"Are we spreading an awareness of the singularity
faster than it is spreading itself?"

There is a distinct difference between attempting
to steer a vehicle down a road one has absolutely
no knowledge of and steering said vehicle down a
road wrapped in fog that one had the benefit of
designing oneself.

Can we lay the track as the train rolls on?
