However, if the person *were* unsubscribed they could then claim that
Extropians are against freedom of speech, etc. (I recall at least one person
who, after being unsubscribed from WTA lists on the basis of racist statements,
attempted to defame the WTA on other lists for similar 'reasons'.) Of course
that would be a completely inaccurate representation of the situation, but
would nonetheless be one that would get people's attention. (Actually if it
were a private list, their claims of having posted the messages and/or their
claims of being or not being unsubscribed would be unverifiable by the public
to whom the 'public claim' would be made.)
