If the Chinese use technology as we understand it, there will be only a large
economic cost, and little in return, materially. This is the same Chinese
leadership, that remember, that went into a tailspin over the WorldWatch
Institutes' article in 1999, "Who Will Feed China?" I suspect the Chinese
know their limits, but seek to gain waht they can by testing people. Harkens
back to the Post Stalin Soviets, doesn't it? No mystery there.
