When I talk about FTL, I don't mean FTL signalling to an unaware alien who
has to notice the pattern; I mean FTL signalling that can require a
fiber-optic cable laid between Sol and Centauri for all I care - the point
is that once you get there on STL drive, you have FTL communication with the
homeland.
