This NY Times article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2002/04/30/science/30VENT.html?pagewanted=print&position=top
seems to document that Venter will,
"try to engineer microbes genetically to convert carbon dioxide
into hydrogen"
Lord, that's really great! Merlin microbes with built-in fission
reactors that can utilize photosynthetic energy inputs to breed
carbon dioxide into hydrogen. Now that is *really* *reeeeaaaally* cool.
Now, I think there is a huge energy loss here, but its about
time that we started paying back Nature for all the 'free' coal,
oil and gas energy we have been harvesting over the last several
hundred years. Lets balance the books, Rah, Rah, Rah....
Lord, this fellow is just way beyond where I am. Time for me
to file bankruptcy papers for Robiobotics I think.
(Yes, I know the NYT, probably misquoted -- but you would *think* the
NYT at least could have caught that error -- that is basic science).
If CV actually said that then he is really out to lunch.
Robert
