Shopping: Gender difference

Its always bothered me why my wife spends so much time shopping. The
usuall story, she goes into a shop, see's something she likes, doesn't buy
it, spends 5 hours looking around other shops then goes back to the first to
buy the first thing she liked. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !
Me, being a typical "Bloke". I'm run in the shop, go directly to the
exact thing I want, grab it pay for it and get home before anyone has
realised ive moved of the couch. Yippeeeee !

Now it has suddenly dawned on me that this appears to be a left over
from our days as hunter gatherers.
Typically the women folk would spend their time forraging for tasty
morsals. Picking and choosing the best.
On the other hand "The Blokes" went running into the woods, Smashed
some furry thing on the head and imediately dragged it back to the camp.
Where they would imediately sit down on the Mamoth skin couch and stick there
hands in their pants ?.

Am I right ? It makes sense to me and just shows we are still carrying
a lot of baggage from our past.
