The real world examples of the Soviets, the Maoists, Khamer Rouge, and for
that matter, Madelynn Murray O'hare, or Aynn Rand do not elicit much
confidence in my judgement that 'professional atheism' offers much in the way
of an improvement in the human condition. Atheism, bourne out of frustration
with being given 'fairy tales' by the fundamentalists is appealing. Dogmatic
atheism, peddled 'evangelically' is just someone setting up the relgious as
scapegoats for their own personal failings.
