The obvious answer would be '"men". Or whoever is "on top" of the current
social structures.

However, one does not need a perpetrator to have a crime. In Ethiopia, one of
the most heinous crimes against women is the operation where they remove the
clitoris, without anesthesia, at puberty. This "benefits" the patriarchal
society by assuring (supposedly) that the females do not engage in
extramarital sexual encounters, or even sex for it's own sake but only for
procreation. However, the institution is as furiously defended by the
"matriarchs" as by the males.

At some point, slavery, racism, reigion, superstitious and "fashionable"
trends of thought (leopard games, cold war, Jung & Freud) become inherent in
the structure itself. Institutionalized memes.

At some point, the purpose of these games becomes obsolete.
I believe the original post was pointing out that in this millennium, in this
circumstance, the "battle between the sexes" has, indeed, lost it's purpose,
benefits no one and should cease.
