Phew! That's worthy of Ted Nelson. And your sentiment is spot on. I'd add a
fifth (zeroth? one-and-a-halfth?) layer, though: the "dash" options of your
compiler & linker.
I'm not sure we need to declare victory in the field of machine-human
interaction, but we need to shut up about it for a while. And stop trying
to sell fancier gift-wrapping for the garbage. I'd accept a false
declaration of victory, toward that end.
