I think your title says it all. This thread has wandered to various topics.
I think we all agree that there are problems with the state of the Web now.
I think we all can envision better ways to do it. It's too bad that good
ideas don't win out over poor ideas in the marketplace.
I think the free-market system is the best system, but it is by no means
perfect. I wish that better systems would really win out over poorer
systems. Unfortunately, the first system gains acceptance over later,
better systems. Perhaps this is an idea for some more research. Not just
on how to make a better browser, but how to gain acceptance in the
marketplace.
